The ORAG site does not attempt to duplicate anyone elses work - that would
be wasted effort. However, we do/will cover unique Canadian content, and of course, our focus is on the Ottawa area.
The TAPR main web page has several links to the latest APRS software, info on the MIC-E, MIM, PIC-E, GPS-30. The TAPR
site is recommended reading for those interested in APRS. Make sure that you check out the site of Keith and Mark Sproul,
creators of WinAPRS. You can also learn a great deal from reading the extensive documentation which
comes with DosAPRS by Bob Bruninga.
Many of these sites are referenced again on our DOWNLOAD web page.
MAPS for DosAPRS
I recently got an email from Tom Domonkos (VE3FCK) in Niagara Falls who has spent
four months (500-600 hours of work) reworking old maps, and building new maps for Ontario. Last count was 138 maps and still at it! Bob
Bruninga, WB4APR has stated these are the best maps that he has ever seen for such a large area. Tom is still tweeking the maplist.ont to have smooth transitions between the maps but they now work quite well. An extensive repository of the latest DosAPRS maps is maintained at http://www.projectx.com. Thankyou Tom and Thankyou Dave and John for maintaining the ProjectX site.

TNC and Related
- MIC-E - TAPR has primed the development of this PIC-based device, which is ideal for APRS over voice repeaters, and has user selectable pre-defined sentences etc. Essentially a one-way TNC or Super MIM. This is a kit with complete packaging.
- PIC-E - TAPR has also primed the development on this PIC-based variation on their MIC which can be used as a two-way device (the MIM is Tx only). The PIC-E is really a development station with built-in PIC programmer. The PIC-E is a complete kit with interface cable, etc. There is a growing library of PIC-E software on the site as well.
- Tiny Trak II A modemless PIC tracker for APRS, by Byon Garrabrant. There are several other interesting PIC applications on this site.
