In 1980 I have been assigned the call PA3AXU by the
Dutch authorities. After some minor trips, like to LX, I have
been posted in the Sinai as peace keeper. I could operate under
the call PA3AXU/SU.
In 1998, when I reached the age of 50 ( in 1998) I have been
allowed by my XYL Ria to go to A3 and 5W. This trip was followed
by another visit to Samoa (1999).
In 2000 we visited Rarotonga (ZK1/S) and Penrhyn (ZK1/N). and in 2001 we made it to T30, C21 and 3D2.
In 2002 I moved to Belgium and I got the call ON4AXU.
After the early days (I started with a Heathkit HW-7 and a field wire dipole) of my amateur radio carreer, the set-up improved and so did my DXCC score. I must admit that in the beginning I made QSO's without knowing that VU4 and VU7 were separate DXCC entities. How lucky I have been !!!
P5/4L4FN made my "DXCC Number
1" a reality
.
When I left PA0 in 2000 and after receiving the
required QSL's I proudly could say that over those 20 years I had
scored :
| Worked All Continents | 5BDXCC |
| DXCC
Mixed Honor Roll #1 341/335 credits |
DXCC Honor Roll CW 335/329 credits |
| RTTY DXCC 278/278 credits |
Topband DXCC 115/113 credits |
For ON4AXU this will be very difficult to beat...however it is a new challenge....
