15.10.2001 - New station worked. Again nice weekend. Worked Karl OE1KM from Wien for the first time, also Petr OK1FIG, Gyuri HA6PC, Geri DK8KW and Mal G3KEV. Mal had a extremely strong signal. I have recorded him several times, but last weekend he was 579-599.
01.10.2001 - 1st LF meeting is gone. We had a very nice sunny day at the QTH. Since 10.00 UTC was the LF station QRV for 24 hours and we made together 15 QSOs under the callsigns OM2TW and OM5CW. We hope that this meeting will step up the activity on 136kc in Slovakia. More informations here.
First OM/OZ QSO. During the LF meeting I have made the first QSO between Slovakia and Denmark on 136kc with OZ1KMR. Henrik had a very nice signal. Thank you for new one ! Also I have worked a new station DJ7RD for the first time.
27.09.2001 - LF meeting this weekend. The first LF-meeting in Slovakia will be in Sintava (29.-30.september 2001) at OM2TW's "two towers" LF QTH. It's 60km from Bratislava (about 120km from Vienna), near the highway between Trnava and Nitra. TX will be 400W to the 21m high antenna with 2x36m cap. hat, DF3LP loop antenna for receiving, packet cluster (HA6DX or OK0DXH) and internet for skeds. E-mail to [email protected]. Mainly CW on 136.5, but some QRSS. We hope to be QRV by 10.00 UTC Saturday for 24 hours or more. Calls will be OM2TW and OM3KIB (club callsign), + maybe other visitor's callsigns. If you want to join in, contact me. If not, then be QRV because we will have a good signal....
23.09.2001 - New station worked. I have worked DL3FDO for the first time.
27.07.2001 - LF meeting in Slovakia. The first OM/OK LF meeting will be in Slovakia-Sintava at 29.-30.september 2001. Informations are only in Slovak language yet. More info in English very soon.
06.07.2001 - Some LF links added.
22.06.2001 - LF articles added on the page. I have put some LF articles published in Slovak hamradio magazine Radiozurnal, sorry only in Slovak language. You may find it here.

08.06.2001 - 300W transmitter "on air". My 300W transmitter (G0MRF project) has been finished. I'm testing it right now with a half of the power (2.6A into antenna).
15.05.2001 - New web design.
22.04.2001 - YL station QRV on LF. My XYL Zuzana OM2YL made her first QSO on LF. The "happy man" was Markus DF6NM. After that QSO she worked also Otti OM5CW. Welcome on LF Zuzana.
17.04.2001 - Easter weekend. A lot of activity on the band. I worked Laurie G3AQC for the first time. Look on the spectrograms page.
26.03.2001 - DL/OM2TW. During my short trip to the Hannover CeBIT exhibition, I had the opportunity to visit Geri DK8KW and operate as DL/OM2TW on 136kHz. During our discussion I worked several stations from DL, G, OK, ON and PA. It's absolutely different location with much higher LF-ers density. It was indeed a nice experience to operate so well equipped LF station. Thank you Geri for your hospitality. Complete logbook of my DL/OM2TW activity is here.
18.03.2001 - New station worked. I worked DF0WD for the first time. He had a very nice signal.
11.03.2001 - First QRSS 2-way OM/OM QSO. We just did it. I worked Otti OM5CW in QRSS. This was a first OM-OM 2-way QRSS QSO.
03.03.2001 - New station from Slovakia. On 1.3.2001 I worked new station from Slovakia. Otti OM5CW made his first QSO on 136kHz. With only 1.4W output power and 100m long antenna I received his QRSS signal very well (distance 56km). Look on the spectrograms page. Today I worked him on CW with a very nice signal...congrats Otti.
18.02.2001 - Updated some links and logbook. LF links, sounds and spectrograms pages and logbook updated. Some interesting statistics after one year on LF ( I'm QRV on 136kHz since 22.01.2000). I have worked 33 different stations from 14 countries (7xDL, 3xG, 3xHA, 2xHB, 3xI, 1xOE, 4xOK, 1xOM, 2xON, 2xOH, 1xPA, 1xS5, 2xSM and 1xYO station). Average distance between me and stations worked is 688 km !!! Nearest station is HA6PC (155km) and farthest station is Reino OH1TN (1524km). Complete logbook is here.
11.02.2001 - Some new stations. I worked DL7YA on QRSS and OK1DTN on CW (see the spectrograms and the sounds pages), both for the first time.
04.02.2001 - My new ODX. I worked Reino OH1TN on QRSS for the first time. It's new ODX for me - 1524 km. Reino have a solid signal, but very unstable. He is traveling in 40Hz range...hi.
03.02.2001 - First OM/YO QSO. After a few exchanged E-mails with Szigy YO2IS we managed an sked on 136kHz. Yes, new country on LF - Romania. I worked Szigy YO2IS (from KN05PS) on 137.7 QRSS on 3.2.2001 at 0600Z. He had a very nice start, his signal was audible all the time. After our QSO we were in the chat via local packet network and than we tried it on CW too. His signal has fading down, but QSO is OK (449/449). You may look on YO2IS spectrogram. Sound is also available, but I have a problem with my sound card (a lot of noise in the recording).
29.1.2001 - First OM/ON QSO and ODX. I was QRV again and I worked G3YXM as a new station and my new ODX - 1464 km, ON4ZK as a first LF QSO between Slovakia and Belgium. For the first time I worked also IK1ODO, HB9ASB and ON7YD. I worked IK5ZPV, he was clear audible at 0930Z, fading down at 1040Z. Look on spectrograms page for details.
22.1.2001 - New station worked. I have worked new station on 136kHz this afternoon, even though a lot of QRM is on the band at this time - OK1MRS normal CW (579/569) from JO80AM.
21.1.2001 - Finally successful weekend. This time I run with my old power amplifier (3xIRF640) and 16V/9A in max.) with about 120W output power in maximum into my 135m long wire antenna up about 25m. Because I was very busy with my family, I was QRV only a few hours during the morning time. Here is my log. I worked Markus DF6NM as a first OM/DL on QRSS, Wil PA0BWL as a first OM-PA in general, Karel OK1DWF - new station on the band from Czech republic (it was his first QSO on LF), Gyuri HA6PC, Mike G3XDV as a first OM-G QRSS QSO, I5TGC and Walter DJ2LF. I received some reports from ON7YD, ON4ZK and NL9222. Log of all my QSOs on 136kHz is here. All 136kHz sounds and grams are also available. My biggest problem is a lot of QRM during the night time from the roadway lighting, so I try to resolve this problem (netfilter, loop antenna for receiving, etc...) and I'll be on the band during the night time too. Still the best time for the QSO is saturday and sunday morning. See you next weekend.
18.1.2001 - OM2TW beacon QRT...report. I'll QRT my beacon on 136.3kHz today afternoon. After 5 days of operation I received more than 30 reports from stations from OM, OK, HA, OE, YO, DL, PA, ON, S5 a SM (ODX: SM6PXJ - 1179km). Not bad with 50W output. My next activity will be saturday (only limited time) and sunday morning. I'll be around 137.7 on QRSS (3s dots). So, see you later on 136 my friends....
16.1.2001 - PCB from G0MRF arived. Just started with 400W transmitter for 136kHz. I hope see you with 400W...
15.1.2001 - Beacon OM2TW on the air. After a few months of QRT on 136, I build a new antenna, but in my home QTH (to prevent thieves activities). It's 137m long wire, maximum about 25m above the ground. Friday afternoon was all ready to be on the air. But only without my defect power amplifier. So I tried it with QRP with some friends around 50km of my QTH. Reports from 579 to NIL. So, I tried to call Petr OK1FIG (he was S9+40dB) with 2 Watts output only on normal CW. 3th call and OK1FIG is in the log (599/529). Oh boy...that's QRPP....280km with 2 Watts. That's all for a saturday. I was very busy with my sons. On sunday (during a breakfast) I build an "sparrow nest" power amplifier with about 50W output. Sunday afternoon was an beacon on the air for about 5 hours (on 136.3 and for a short time on 137.5) and I got reports from OM, YO, OK and HA. I'll put it again on the air this afternoon untill friday afternoon. It will run with 50W and normal CW, 24 hours a day on 136.3 kHz. Only for test purposes. If you will hear me, please send me an E-mail or spot me in the cluster.
14.1.2001 - New antenna. I was in my second QTH and I saw that my Marconi antenna has been stolen. Nice surprise for the new year. I choose another solution, LF antenna in my home QTH. Yesterday I build a new antenna (about 135m long wire) in my home, together with my friends OM2KM and OM3TWJ.
1.1.2001 - Happy New Year 2001
17.12.2000 - Another test. I was on my LF site during this Saturday, but I burn all my mosfets. Something is wrong with my power amplifier. After a few weeks of problemless operation, one mosfet has been broken. And when I replaced a new one, burn again. And others too. They burn immediately when I applied a power supply. I think a problem is in PCB (some leakance). I'm home now, so I cant look in my office for E-mail (and rsgb_lf_group too). So, you may use my home E-mail [email protected] . Please send a message to rsgb_lf_group or inform on your web site, that I'll do my best to be QRV again as soon as possible. I must redesign my power amplifier. I'm home until 2.january 2001 so I have enough time to do it...hi. Best regards and have a nice day...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2001 to you and all LF-ers...
14.10.2000 - Transmission from 130m tower
unsuccessful. Sorry to say, but my first mission to the 130m tower was unsuccessful. We
had a serious problem with tuning this antenna. This antenna is only 5 km
away from another 130m high tower, which produce 750 kW on 1097 kHz. First
when I disconnected this antenna from the grounding system, I get a shock
from high voltage. When I connected all equipments to the antenna, it was
necessary to add 40dB attenuator in front of the receiver. But the main
problem was with tuning of the antenna. My measurement equipments, SWR meter
and current meter reading maximum rates. Tuning with low power (5 watts)
was nearly impossible. We tried higher power (about 50 watts), we find some
differences between reflected and forward power, but all meters shows
power/SWR and induced voltage from the close transmitter together. Needles
on the meters dancing according to the AM modulation from broadcasting
station and power from my transmitter. We started tuning at 19.00Z and
until 00.30Z we didn't success. Only my hand were scorch from high voltages.
We tried to tune antenna with remote help of OM2KM (about 30 km away) and we
tuned it for maximum after a long phone call (579 with 5 W). But when I
switched on my power amplifier, the induced voltage enabled the protection
circuit in my power amplifier and....so, problems, problems, problems...We
heard DJ2LF and I have a phone call with DF6NM, but no QSO was made. So,
that's the true story...unsuccessful, but I'm sure that I did my best. But
I'll try it again and again. I thing it's a real technical problem. If can't
imagine, what's going on, look during the night time on 1097 kHz and than
you know what's happened a few km away. So, if you think that you know, how
to do it or how to help me, please let me know. All informations are
welcome.
19.6.2000 - Just began with new construction. VXO exciter is the same as before. First test with audio amplifier TDA2030. Result - 5 Watts output sinewave.
7.6.2000 - LF-ers CallBook added on my web site. I've put an page with the addresses of some active LF-ers. Please send me message, if it's something wrong. LF callbook available here...
16.5.2000 - Some pictures from Sitno. I've put some pictures on my web site. I'll try 136kHz from this QTH in September or October, during the VHF and UHF contest. Sitno pictures available here...
8.5.2000 - Mission unsuccessful. Operating from the Sitno telecomm tower unsuccessful. I installed 170m long wire with 40m vertical section. But QRM from commercial equipments was very high, about 40dB over S9. A have tried CQ with CW and after that Visual-CW for a long time, but nothing. Only OM5RW reported my signal on 136,4. More pictures from this operating tomorrow.
3.5.2000 - OM2TW QRV again. Next Saturday 6.5.2000 from 1200z until Sunday 1600z I'll be operating from a 50m telecomm tower at Sitno in JN98KJ. My power will be only 50W output to avoid problems with the commercial stuff. I prefer frequencies 136.4 and 136.9 (CW) and 137.7 (Visual-CW). We will be operating also on 2m, 70cm and 23cm in the VHF contest with OM3KII/p callsign.
