I was born in a small town Nachod, on OCT 18, 1941. School education I have started in Broumov in 1947, finished in 1958. After another three years of study I became an army officer in the rank of lieutenat. Then I had to pay my duty at different places and troops and in 1968, few weeks before the occupation former Czechoslovakia I have started my first semester at the Military Colege in Brno, graduated after five years. All the time of my studies I was in touch with Ham Radio either during weekends (when time allowed) or at the club station OK2KOJ in Brno. We are now living in Hradec Kralove (100 000 inhabitants) in East part of the Czech Republic, about 60 miles east of Praha. Married for the first time in 1963, divorced 1983. The second marriage (in 1983) lasts till now and my wife Eve has much more understanding for my hobbies than my first wife. We have three daughters -Iva (from the first marriage), Iveta and Lucie, all married and last two live in the same town. In 1997 I finished my military career in the rank of colonel in hope I will have more time for DXing, contesting, etc. Actually it was a bit different and I am still working as an economist. We have three grandchildren : Zdenek, Michal, Nikola and the youngest one - Patrik. We all were very happy of the birth and I hope he will take over my hobby as he was born during the CQWW CW Contest (Nov 25th, at 0330 local). Except the Ham Radio I like fishing (especially trout) and travelling. As regards my sport activities I play tennis and from time to time squash with my sons-in-law. Another member of our big family was born on April 12 at 00.30 local time under his father´s "supervision". Thanks to the fact we have very fresh pictures (see the left one - the baby is about 5 minutes old). Her name is Barborka (the Czech modification of Barbara) and she was 50 cm long and her weight was 3.17 kg. She and her mother Lucy are already at home and both feel quite well. We all are very happy and looking forward the next baby which should be expected around the end of Jun or the mid of July. "Last but not least" baby was born July 30, 2003 at 1530 local time. Her name is Marketka (Margarette) and her picture you can see here with her mother - Iveta. The other picture shows Marketka in the age of three months. We both with Eve are enjoying so many grandchildren even my time I can spend in the Hamshack is limited a bit.
