3rd Rope Length
The third rope length may not be climbed as
directly as this image lets to understand, instead you have to make a large
halfcircle to the right. First you have to make a traverse to the
right - where the lower climber in the image is doing it - to the small cave and
from there upwards and all the time slightly to the left. a large half-circle to
the right. When I was belaying in
the hole Walter came after and continued up to the left making the next belay
just where the upper climber is. These two ropelengths are today climbed as one,
and I think nobody enters the small hole any more. The actual third ropelength
is the crux of the climb and its difficulty is of grade 6b.
When making the route in 1999 I was climbing this
ropelength as the second. We used long rope slings in several pitons in order to
make the rope run easier. When I left the cave and had to proceed diagonally
upwards to the left, I do not recall seeing any pitons before the chain of the
next belaying point. The holds were small and no force was needed, but it was a
really delicate pitch.

La terza lunghezza della corda non può essere arrampicata direttamente come
questa immagine lascia capire, invece ci si deve fare un ampio semicerchio
verso destra. Prima dovete fare una traversata alla destra - dove lo scalatore più basso nell'immagine sta facendola - a la piccola caverna e di
là verso l'alto impiegando sempre un po a sinistra. Quando ho assicurato
Walter nel foro lui è venuto dopo e poi continuato verso il punto dove vediamo
lo scalato superiore. Queste due lunghezze oggi
sono arrampicati come una e penso che nessuno entra più nel piccolo foro. La
terza lunghezza è il nodo dell'ascensione e la difficoltà è
del grado 6b.
In 1999 ho fatto la lunghezza come il secondo ed
abbiamo usato lunghi anelli in parecchie chiodi per fare la corda correre
meglio. Quando ho lasciato il foro e proseguito in senso diagonale verso alto e
sinistra, non mi ricordo d'aver visto alcuni chiodi prima delle catene nel posto
d'assicurazione prossimo. Le prese erano piccole e della forza non ci si aveva
bisogno, però il tratto era veramente molto, molto delicato.
