Crowding on the wall

In 2001 I tried to climb the 'Direct Dimai' on the East Wall of the Main Torre Grande and could take this photo, where two parties are making the East Wall of the Northern Torre. Those at the right are climbing the Via Finlandia, but the others are tackling another new route, which leads near the big crack between the main towers. When we were making the first ascension in 1959, I could see the famous guide Lino Lacedelli - conqueror of K2 five years earlier - on the top of Torre Lusy and following our doings with binoculars.
 

Folla sulla parete

In 2001 ho provato ad arrampicare la 'Dimai diretta' sulla parete orientale del Torre principale e potrei prendere questa foto, in cui due partiti stanno facendo la parete orientale del Torre nord. Quelle alla destra sono sulla via Finlandia, ma le altre stanno affrontando un altro tinerario nuovo, che conduce vicino alla crepa grande fra le torri principali. Quando stavamo facendo la prima ascensione in 1959, potrei vedere la famosa guida  Lino Lacedelli - conquistadore di K2 cinque anni prima - sulla Torre Lusy e osservando le nostre attivitą con il binocolo.
