• We looked specifically for a good operator with advanced computer and technical skills. We looked for people scoring well in highly demanding operating events (Sprints & SS), and we looked for a person who might have achieved something extraordinary in some specific operating related segments. Dual operating and advanced station design were identified as such.
• But we went beyond that all and wanted to have a personality who could cope with the entire team, keeping them motivated, working in a true "team spirit" under this somewhat unique single-op concept!

Jeffrey S. Steinman, N5TJ ( ex-KR0Y ), 35 years of age, was invited. Jeff came more from the U.S. domestic ranks, but his track record looked impressive. We had also known Jeff from both the two World Radio Team Championships (Jeff won with K1TO in San Francisco!) and had made a trip to his then active Texas station (WM5G).

Four C3XL beams were used - top one rotatable and others fixed. 40M is covered on 2 element full size and 160/80 on slopers and beverages.
