After 7 times of operating from Sandström Reef we decided to do something else this year... Discussion with OH2TA at SRAL's summer camp just one week before the contest led to this joint venture operation with OH DX RING, the old club behind the Brändö contest site and many fine contest operations and DXpeditions with several callsigns (OH2AM, OH0AM, OH0R, OH0B etc. etc.)
Unfortunately mother nature was not on our side and the radio conditions were very poor from here north. Even the Europeans were very weak and difficult to copy on all bands. During the contest we had to go QRT three times and disconnect everything because of thunderstorm. Over 100 qsos were lost from the log (between 0830-0930) because of hard disk failure in one of the computers. During that time we had only one station QRV until a lightning strike very nearby...
