It's a Long Way to Far a Way On a short notice an opportunity to go to OH0Z opened to me. Of course an old war horse like me was not able to resist it. Before I knew I was on a ferry heading for Mariehamn, the capitol of Aland Islands. And a drive of 40 minutes and there I was, on a rocktop called OH0Z. Well, to get the DX-pedition feeling, I first had to climb to higher tower to fix the 40 m beam. It took about 2 hours total after which I was pretty worn out. Luckily the contest was not to start untill next day, so I had plenty of time to deal with normal problems connecting radios and computers and stuff. So the SAC CW started as it does every year. The run was not exactly what I was prepared for. Propagation sucked and night hours were awful. The only comfort was that it's the same for all scandinavians. We were all suffering. And SSB was just like CW.
