FAI (Field Aligned Irregularities) Observations 1998 - 2000 by OE8FNK

All FAI observations are processed from the automated radio meteor setup at the OE8FNK Radio Observatory. The Program FFTDSP42 by AF9Y ist used for recording, the resulting FFT-pictures are inspected for the presence of Sporadic-E or FAI signatures, and the corresponding pictures (in 200 second segments) are classified as "Interference", "meteor only", "FAI (field-aligned irregularities)", or "Sporadic-E". While the sensitivity of the System is quite high (FFTDSP is used for EME, detecting the weakest possible signals), the system monitors only a small north - south path, from southern Austria to Sicilia, Italy.
