New functions in Pr4Win 3.0
Interactive TNC initialization.
You can configure Pr4win to show up a connection window which is directly conneted to your TNC before any initialization takes place.
User Interface.
The user interface has changed with version 3.0 to match more closely the Microsoft interface standard. The toolbox has become a toolbar and all icons have become small icons. Icon Buttons display their boarder only when the cursor is over the button area.
Language support.
All texts used in Pr4Win are now contained in plain text files. For each language supported by Pr4Win there is a language directory containing all these files. See Pr4Win internationalization project.
Pop up Help.
With each icon button a pop up help text may be associated. This texts are configured in the "language\dialog.txt" file.
Pop up menu.
A popup menu can be configured for each list in each window. The popup menu is opened by a right mouse button click into the list part of a window.
Time.
The current time is displayed in the MDI status bar.
Password methods.
The new "DieBox" password method has been implemented. And the embedding of passwords in random characters is supported now.
Beacon.
Release 3.0 supports beacons with different text for each port/ channel the text may contain keyword that are substituted before the text is sent. Read the WinWord 7.0 file "pr4docu.doc"
Mail..
Mail is kept in a hierarchical folder structure. Folders can be created and deleted. Mail can be moved from folder to folder. New mail is received in the main folder. New written mail is kept in the main folder. The directory where all mailfolders are kept can be configured by a MAILPATH= entry in the Pr4Win.ini file.
Station database.
Stataions entered automaticall by a first connection are set to access level 1 instead of 0. 0 does not allow any remote instructions and should be used for mail boxes and digippeater.
Binary file transfer.
The SP,GP binary file transfer protocol is now sopported by Pr4Win.
New or changed remote commands.
- //GU filter
Gets a (text or binary) file which is automatically UU encoded while it is sent.
- //GB filter
Gets a (text or binary) file in binary mode.
- //PLAY wavfile
The remote "//play wavfile" command now always refers the \pr4win\sound directory. "//play ?" lists all available sound files.
Configurable fonts.
The fonts used for static texts, buttons and entry fields can be configured for each window
Setting spy windows.
Spy windows can be set be entering both call signs of connection to be captured.
