The mission of the Orange County ARES/RACES is to promote emergency and public service communications in Orange County, New York. Orange County ARES/RACES is dedicated to serving as the communications backbone during any disaster or disruption of normal communications channels.

The organization also serves as the Skywarn spotter network for the Orange County area.

Orange County ARES/RACES cooperates with local emergency management and other public service agencies needing assistance during a disaster.
