| The Oklahoma City AutoPatch Association has a long standing
relationship with the Arkansas-Oklahoma Division of the Salvation Army.
OCAPA members have provided communication support for the Salvation Army
during the the 1995 Oklahoma City Bombing, the May 3, 1999 tornado
outbreak, and the May 8-9, 2003 tornadoes. Just in those 3 events, OCAPA
members tallied over 2000 man hours of service to the Salvation Army and
the residents of Central Oklahoma.
In 2002, the Salvation Army and OCAPA worked together to build a Emergency Communication Center. The center is full equipped with HF, VHF and UHF. It is capable of FM, SSB, Packet, and APRS. The center was used 24 hours a day during the May 8-9, 2003 Tornadoes. Below are links associated with the Salvation Army. Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network (SATERN) |
