Education

As far as education goes,  I started out at Franklin Grade school,  which was located right across the street from my home.  However it took longer than expected to get to school, because you see, they had this thing about safety.  They would not let me just cut across the street.  No,  I had to walk clear down to the corner, cross the street, and then back down to the front door of the school.  Boy,   did they ever make things difficult.  I of course had several good friends during my school life.  Dan Rodriguez, Clyde Weaver, Stan Willis, Chris Clapp, and of course our next door neighbor, Mary Baumgart, and Mike Mahan. Well, the list could go on and on, but we tell more later.  North Ridge Junior High was the next stop on the education tour,  then it was Danville High, here we come. DHS,  home of the Mighty, Mighty Vikings!! Although receiving no help from me,  Danville athletes placed in several top positions in state competition in all sports.  Most of you know,  Illinois takes their prep sports very seriously,  especially football and basketball.  I do miss all the sports action,  but as General Douglas McArthur said,  I will return,  or something like that.  After 4 years in the military, which will be discussed on another page,  I did attend Danville Jr. College where I took some courses covering both Fire and Police Science.
