Basic Electronics Theory

Key Terms:  Ampere, Volt, Watt, AC, DC

Basic electrical circuits can be thought of as a hose passing water.  Volts in an electrical circuit refers to the pressure of electrical energy passing through the circuit, just as there is water pressure in a hose.  Amperes (often referred to as Amps) refer to the speed at which electrons pass through the circuit at a given point.  One Amp equals 6.24 x 1018 electrons per second.
