North Texas Contest Club (NTCC)

 (Updated 7/21/2002)
Meeting Announcement: Annual Election and Program.

When: Tuesday, September 3, 2002, 7:30 p.m. (the building doors lock at 7:30, so don't be late)

Where: The usual place, i.e., 4230 LBJ Freeway, fourth floor conference room (immediately to the left off the elevators)

Dutch Treat Dinner beginning about 6:15 p.m. at Purdy's on Beltline in Addison for the hungry ones.

Program: K5RA will present as follows:

How, without a crane, do you take down a tower that weighs up to 1025 pounds per
section? NTCC members did it! You must see "HEAVY LIFTING," K5RA's story of the
take down of N5JKX's 131-ft, 2-ton, self-supporting steel tower in Sherman. Hear design
and test details of 200-pound, 25-ft, pivot-head gin pole for lifting 1500 pounds. See team in action. See N5YA in action moments before disaster struck. Hear what went wrong and why. Dozens of pictures. And you thought that 20' mast was a project to install! (Tim needs a way to project PowerPoint slides. Can anyone provide the needed projector?)

We will have election of officers - better be there to avoid service!

73 Jim K5RX
