The NRIRC, founded in 1982 by Bob Vota WB1FDY (SK), has been active in community affairs and Ham Radio consistently.The club has been named as a Special Services Club for most of these years. The current Officer Staff and Members welcome you to their Web Site. Here you can see the club history in text as well as in pictures. We meet every the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursday evening, then on the 3rd week we meet at 10 AM Sat at the Burger King in Greenville, (Rt 44 & 5). The 1st Thursday is our monthly business meeting, the others are for fun and socializing, sometimes a project. Meetings are held at the Warren Sherman School, 120 Kiley Ave, Warwick, RI

WB1FDY John 'Bob' Vota - Bob, or Fat Dumb Yankee as he liked to phoneticise, was a Ham loved by all that entered his log. He held an Extra class license and was considered an Elmer by many. In his time as a Ham he held many positions, he held the post of RI Section Manager for the 1985-87 term, he was a past President of Providence Radio Association, (W1OP), Trustee of the Quohaug Repeater Network, former State Director of the Army MARS program. He was also State Director for the New England Spectrum Management Council. In 1982 Bob founded the Northern RI Radio Club, he also was a Trustee for the club for many of the years.
He was survived by his wife Elaine, KA1PID, and 2 sons, Bob KA1QYF and Bill KA1QYE.
