Welcome to the Tennessee Open Repeater System
145.41/441.25/53.45 Monteagle Mtn repeaters are open to all licensed amateur radio operators, and you are welcome to use these machines. 145.41 can be linked on demand to other repeater systems via the remote base. The 442.925 repeater near Chattanooga is available to link into the Monteagle Mountain machine. Contact Chris, W4ORS for additional information.

EchoLink Node 2043 NQ4Y-R
The NQ4Y-R Echolink node allows amateur radio operators equipped with a rig to chat with other hams using Echolink Stations. You can connect to standalone PC users, Linked Users (usually radio), and other repeater systems linked through Echolink. With Echolink on other hams can dial into the NQ4Y repeater anytime day or night. If the repeater is idle you will hear the repeater announce the caller. If busy this announcement will be suppressed and you will never know if anyone is connected. However, you can send touch tones "08" and the repeater will announce the call signs of the hams connected via Echolink.

Here are a few guidelines to follow: If you hear an incoming Echolink Call feel free to make contact and chat with the visitor. Simply use the same techniques for communicating as you would on any other voice medium.

Pause 2-3 seconds after hearing the beep tone from Echolink before keying your PTT (Push To Talk) to talk back to the visitor.

When the call is complete usually the caller will disconnect by depressing the "#". If not you can disconnect the call with by keying your microphone PTT and depressing the " # " for one second.

Here are the most common touch tone commands you can use:

01 Place a random Echolink Call - it will automatically connect to another Echolink station. First you will hear the "connecting to" message, then you'll hear "Connected.." Listen first, then call CQ.

# Disconnect the Call. Note: This will disconnect all users if conference mode is enabled.

*Note: If there is activity on the repeater then Echolink messages are surpressed.
2043 This is the node number for the 145.41 Monteagle Mountain NQ4Y-R Echolink to the 145.41 NQ4Y repeater.
09 Call Back the last station that was connected to us.
08 Status Request - Will let you know if someone is connected to us via Echolink.

*Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. - James 1:19
