The NPARC Reflector on QTH.Net

1. Subscribing (Joining the Reflector)

You can subscribe to the QTH reflector either through a Reflector Info web site or by email.

When subscribing, please use the email address that you will use to send reflector postings, since submissions from any other address will be rejected. If you have more than one email address, for example work and home, you won't be able to send messages from both addresses -- unless you register both addresses (and get messages at both places). Do not use a forwarding address such as arrl.net since you can't send mail to the reflector from such an address.

After you submit your subscription request, you will be sent an email "confirmation request" to make sure it was really you who made the subscription request. This step prevents others from subscribing you without your knowledge. After you reply to the confirming message, you will be sent a welcoming message with further instructions about using the reflector.

2. Password

When you first sign up, you will be asked to pick a password for your subscription account. Pick an unimportant, unique password of your choice. Don't pick the one you use for other, important accounts, since reminder messages with your password will be sent to you monthly (or upon request from the Reflector Info web site) and they could be intercepted.

If you forget your password, you can go to the Reflector Info web site and ask for it to be emailed to you. (You can't use the email option to ask for your password; you must use the Reflector Info web site.)

3. Subscription Options

The reflector software offers you many options for customizing your reflector account, either by using the  Reflector Info web site or by email. They include:

bulletUnsubscribing
bulletTemporarily holding all mail (vacation hold)
bulletReceiving one digest of yesterday's postings instead of the individual, real-time postings
bulletChanging your password
bulletNot being sent a copy of messages you post

4. Subscription Lists

You can also use the Reflector Info web site or email commands to find out:

bullet"Who" else is subscribed to NPARC
bulletWhat other lists I am subscribed to at QSL.Net (can't be done with an email command; web site only)
