12/12/01 - 2002 Officers elected: During the December 11th club meeting the NK5A officers for the 2002 term were elected. See the details in the minutes of the last Board meeting from 12/11.
11/9/01 - Year's End NK5A get-together: We're planning to have a Year's End get-together of all NK5A members. Our President, Esa, will send out an invitation soon. Please join us for this important club activity.
11/9/01 - Status report on our Station: Better NEWS: Esa informs us that we are making progress towards the release of our room. He also informs us that he's trying to get us some more equimpent for the station, such as an old PC, etc. I guess that the Champagne can go back into the freezer... keep your fingers crossed! Esa will keep us posted!
9/9/01 - Status report on our Station: BAD NEWS: Kerry informs us that we are having difficulties with the release of our room. It might be so that we are back to square one in terms of having our own station. We will keep you posted!
8/29/01 - NK5A HAS A RIG !!!
Our Club just acquired the first piece of equipment to put together the Club Station. It's an ICOM 735 for HF work. Now we need to start working on the antennas. The plan is to have the station up-and-running as soon as October 1st. We'll publish details as they develope. See the details in the minutes of the last Board meeting from 8/24.

8/18/01 - Just received the latest edition of the Nokia ExPat News with an article about Amateur Radio and our NK5A Club
8/16/01 - Status report on our Station: Kerry informs that the room is being painted right now and that some electrical outlets are being modified for our needs. It will be ready very soon. Keep the Champagne in the cooler!
7/31/01 - We are planning to run some Club ads in the Nokia "The Tube" monitors throughout our Campus and also the "Daily Nokia News" via e-mail. We also created material for "The Learning Center" so that we can have an IntraNet HP published as well. Should be ready in a couple of weeks. We were informed by HR that this ads will start as soon as the IntraNet page is up and running
7/27/01 - Our NK5A HP was updated big-time. Check out the changes and let me know if you're experiencing any difficulties.
7/24/01 - We were recognized by our local Nokia HR as being an official Nokia Club. We are being sponsored by the Nokia - Irving Campus - Learning Center. I'd like to thank all people involved in getting us recognized, specially Ms. Melissa Francis who has been very supportive to our ideas and goals!
3/16/01 - We got the HP space here at qls.net. This will now become the official NK5A Internet HP!
2/15/01 - Yahoogroups Mail Reflector is now operational. You should be getting the club e-mails through the reflector. IF NOT, please let me know and we will try and fix it!
1/31/01 - Callsign NK5A is issued as a vanity call by the FCC. KD5MTV is dropped. We ended up getting a pretty slick call, both for SSB and CW. Let's see if we can get the official phonetics changed from "November Kilo Five Alpha" to "Nokia Kilo Five Alpha"... ;-)
1/11/01 - Callsign KD5MTV is issued by the FCC. This is now the official call for our club station. Our trustee - Cary - will request a vanity call. Unfortunately the call N0KIA is already taken... That would have been very cool!
11/17/00 - Radioklub Nokia is formed and the Bylaws are signed. Esa Korhonen is our first President. Check out the link to the Board to see who else was elected.
