PROPOSED ORDINANCE ------------------ SEC. 55-783. Height exceptions These provisions allow exceptions to the height limit of any zoning district in certain situations. (b) Amateur Radio Antenna Support Structures: (1) In an effort to comply with FCC Opinion & Order PRB-1, amateur radio antenna support structures used by FCC licensed amateur radio operators may exceed the height limit of any district up to a maximum height of seventy- five (75) feet. (2) Such amateur radio antenna support structures shall not be located within any front yard, street side yard, or interior side yard within a residential zoning district. (3) In special instances where amateur radio antenna support structure heights in excess of seventy- five (75) feet are required to achieve effective and reliable communication, PRB-1 guidelines will be reviewed when considering a conditional use permit for a licensed amateur radio operator.
