Minutes of the 7/05/06 Membership Meeting
Call to Order:
Treasurer Bob called the meeting to order at 7:55pm (pdt)
There were 12 in attendance.
Pledge of Allegiance was made by all.
Guests:
None.
Reading of the
Minutes:
Minutes of 6/21/06 were postponed until the next meeting.
Officer’s Reports—Treasurer:
Bob had no bank statement yet as it was too
early in the month. A printout of investments was available.
Correspondence:
The Clark County Amateur Radio Newsletter is
here for July. The PUD bill is here and it’s $68.75—up slightly from
last time.
Frank Hammersmith’s obituary mentioned making a donation to LCARA in
his name,
and the Club received $110. Bob received this year’s dues from Ray,
NB7Y.
Board of Directors’ Report:
None.
Old Business:
Mike said Field Day was a success this year!
Club members who haven’t participated before contributed to the 992
contacts we
made. We had 4 stations going at the same time with people logging.
This was
the first time we had used the Logging Program. Randy, NU7D did both
Field Day and
Tour de Blast! He made early morning contacts with China. A special
“Thank you”
to Mike for organizing Field Day! Thanks to everyone who participated
in Field
Day and to Brian who helped organize much of the event, and to Bob for
connecting the computers! Nathan, KBØSZY and Scott, KA7NWQ
helped with the
antennas, and thanks to Steve, K7SDH for breakfast! Next contest will
be the
Washington State QSO Party—the Salmon Run—and it would be fun to see
how many
contacts we could make. The FISTS Summer Sprint is this coming weekend
On the 220 repeater topic, Rob WA7ROB will order
new
crystals for it. <Discussion followed>
Connie, KB7AYY stated that SAR members need NIMS training of ICS 100 & 700 by 9/30/06. If you’ve already taken the courses, Randy needs copies of your certificates.
Bob submitted paperwork for the Special Service Club Status about 2 weeks ago. He mailed the check last weekend to Al Waller for webhosting QSL.net.
Judi, KD7GZR mailed off paperwork on 6/21/06 for renewal of the Club’s non-profit status to the Secretary of State.
It’s reported that the cost to now mow the big field grass is $175, and Bob will mail the check to Dave for that.
New Business:
Connie said Randy got an email today from Lori at DEM, and they would
like us to participate in the ES section of the fair in August. Holly
Barker
from SAR volunteered to coordinate that area at the Cowlitz County
Fair—it runs
from 8/2 through 8/5 this year. No times were available for staffing
the booth,
but Connie brought sign-up sheets tonight.
Rick, WA7NWN asked about putting on a class for licensing. It was determined that Ray, NB7Y had the materials for that in the past, so he would be the one to contact.
Good Of The Order:
Brian brought an LCARA Newsletter
tonight and read highlights from it. He will be publishing it
quarterly. If
anyone has articles to contribute, contact Brian.
Bob indicated the annual liability insurance needs
attention. According to the By-Laws, no vote is required to pay
recurring
bills. He will issue a check tonight.
Rob had a question about paying ARRL dues, and asked if a portion of them could go to the Club? Bob will check into this.
On the subject of antennas, there should be more available for contesting. We have about 2 months to get the shorter tower ready for the fall contesting schedule. We need to set up a meeting for this. <Discussion followed>
Motion to adjourn carried. Meeting adjourned 8:48pm
Respectfully submitted,
Judi—KD7GZR
