Lower Columbia Amateur Radio Association
Minutes of the 5/17/06 Membership Meeting

Call to Order:
President Wally called the meeting to order at 7:30pm (pdt)
There were 15 in attendance.

Pledge of Allegiance was made by all.

Guests: Matt Greeley

Reading of the Minutes: Minutes of 4/19 and 5/03 were approved.

Officer’s Reports—Treasurer: Bob KB7ADO distributed the report. A check to PUD from January is not on the Report. After 6 months, we can add the lost amount back into our account. Treasurer’s Report was approved.

Correspondence:
Bob has the bank statement and a brochure from the stockbroker. Dues from John Walsh were received. In response to emails, we have 34 members & 4 associate members.

Randy NU7D says Laurie at DEM is moving the time back for the “Trojan Implosion Exercise” to 10pm on May 21st for us to be there. SAR team will be running messages between different Command Posts.  I-5 will have traffic stopped for about 2 miles each way; Coast Guard people will be there as will the COMM van. A Deputy from Cowlitz County will also be there.

Board of Directors’ Report: No report.

Old Business: Bob talked to Rob WA7ROB about the repeater and receiver not working. It was configured to use the remote base, and the decode function wasn’t working on the D7. Any signal can bring up the repeater. Receiver is drifting off-frequency slightly. He intends to get it on the air next week. The problem is common to Master 2.  Now the 440 has KBAM music coming through it. <Discussion followed>

New Business: Mike and Field Day: We can use LCARA as an alternate EOC site, and Randy can put in for a Mission #. We can be 3F instead of last year’s 3A.  Tour-de-Blast is also on June 24th. We need to determine who will attend Field Day. The timeframe is 11:00am Saturday until 11:00am Sunday. Antenna system will be up. If you want food, bring your own. We hope to have a BBQ here.

Good Of The Order: The Cleaning Party got rid of unnecessary items. Brian KJ7OX mowed the lawn, twice around and discovered that the mower needs new blades. Good job, Brian!

Bob says this is the weekend of Dayton Hamvention, and local stores typically give Dayton prices while the Hamvention is going on.

The LCARA Website should show first names and phone #’s only of members when they were queried about ARES affiliation being added.

There will be an “Emergency Preparedness” meeting at Toutle Lake School May 23rd at 7:00pm.

Meeting adjourned 8:23pm

Respectfully submitted,

Judi—KD7GZR,

Secretary
