W7DG got QSL card from WA3RML in Arlington TX, operating QRP and he wants a QSL card from us.

Board of Directors’ Report:
No Board of Directors’ meeting scheduled at this time—Rob is unavailable. Brian contacted Earl, but due to schedules, no meeting can be arranged at this time.

Club received QSL cards from Field Day 2004.

Old Business:
Amplifier: Brian stated that Harbach Electric would begin mail orders Feb. 1. He will buy the kit and make upgrades to the amplifier.

“220” Repeater:
Brian and Wally opened the discussion about the repeater that doesn’t work, repairing or replacing the “26” repeater, and going through all the repeaters. Wally stated progress needs to be made in order to have a functional system. Brian grounded the repeater at the Club—it had none at all.

Bob indicated the cost of a repeater is $650 for a 20amp linear power supply, 25w, and options, $700 for a Micor. Shipping would be about $50. Hamtronics is one company we could buy from. Other company’s costs were over $1000. Antenna and power supply would be extra. We have a set of cavities that are with Earl. Rob knows how to tune them. <Discussion followed>

Tere talked to SAR at last meeting; they have tables in our bay at the Rizad Building; they said we could have 10 folding tables, which are in good shape. We need to have them moved ASAP to the Clubhouse. Replace the ones that are here now with the 10, and possibly use these older ones for Field Day.

Brian
has a truck, and Tere and Butch have access to the building. Sunday, the 19th is a tentative date.

New Business:
Randy said that Trudy would like a list of any new items for the COMM Van, and DEM has money to spend on it. Items mentioned were new Laptop for SAR, Weather station, 4 HTs for Police frequencies, and 3 new Police radios. If the Clubhouse were included, a Generator would be added to the list. At a later date, the HF rig needs looking at or replaced; also, a new Cellphone.

Good of the Order:
Brian: Last Saturday, was the FISTS CW Sprint. He worked W7DG from Clubhouse, and so did Scott, KA7NWQ, on 15, 20, and 40m. Brian had 44 contacts, with 41 being FISTS, 21 states, and 8 zones. Total points were 4,326. He has a map of states highlighted that he and Scott worked. He also emailed results to Ed Bruette, N7NVP, who worked 93 FISTS. Lot of fun had a good time. There were lots of high-speed guys, around 30wpm. Scott made 4 FISTS on 40m. <Discussion followed>

Butch: The “30” is down again. <Discussion followed on buying new equipment>

Mike was given a map for “Worked All States” from Brian and if anyone would like a copy, it’s here.

There is a Swap Meet in Salem this weekend.

Wally: COMM Academy is coming up 1st weekend in April this year in Burien. No details have been announced yet except for date/location.

Steve-K7SDH-motioned to adjourn, Ray-K7AA-seconded. Majority carried.

Adjourned at 8:23pm.

Respectfully submitted:
