Minutes of the February 15, 2006 Membership Meeting
President
Wally, WM7U, called the meeting
to order at 7:30pm (pst).
There
were 15 members in attendance.
The Pledge of

was made by all.

Distributed
by Bob. Motion to approve the Report was made by Diana, 2nd
by
Brian, Majority carried.
Wally:
NU7D
received an announcement of 7th District QSO Party
information--a CD
that he printed out and is 17 pages long. The Party is May 6-7 this
year.

Field
Day 2006 information packet is here for all to look at.
May
6th: SCARC 15th
annual Electronic Flea Market and Hamfest, an ARRL sanctioned event at
Quarterly
stock report from Smith-Barney came in if anyone wants to see it.

PUD
bill is $116.08 for this time, with $254 outstanding.
From
Ed Bruette, there is a Teacher’s Academy regarding amateur radio.

got QSL card from WA3RML in

Board of Directors’ meeting scheduled at this time—Rob is unavailable.
Brian
contacted Earl, but due to schedules, no meeting can be arranged at
this time.
Club
received QSL cards from Field Day 2004.
Amplifier: Brian stated that Harbach
Electric would begin mail orders Feb. 1. He will buy the kit and make
upgrades
to the amplifier.
Brian
and Wally
opened the discussion about the repeater that doesn’t work, repairing
or
replacing the “26” repeater, and going through all the repeaters. Wally
stated
progress needs to be made in order to have a functional system. Brian
grounded
the repeater at the Club—it had none at all.
Bob
indicated the cost of a
repeater is $650 for a 20amp linear power supply, 25w, and options,
$700 for a
Micor. Shipping would be about $50. Hamtronics is one company we could
buy
from. Other company’s costs were over $1000. Antenna and power supply
would be
extra. We have a set of cavities that are with Earl. Rob knows how to
tune
them. <Discussion followed>
Brian has a truck, and Tere
and
Butch have access to the building. Sunday, the 19th is a
tentative
date.
Randy said that Trudy would like
a list of any new items for the COMM Van, and DEM has money to spend on
it.
Items mentioned were new Laptop for SAR, Weather station, 4 HTs for
Police
frequencies, and 3 new Police radios. If the Clubhouse were included, a
Generator would be added to the list. At a later date, the HF rig needs
looking
at or replaced; also, a new Cellphone.
Brian: Last Saturday, was the
FISTS CW Sprint. He worked W7DG from Clubhouse, and so did Scott,
KA7NWQ, on
15, 20, and 40m. Brian had 44 contacts, with 41 being FISTS, 21 states,
and 8
zones. Total points were 4,326. He has a map of states highlighted that
he and
Scott worked. He also emailed results to Ed Bruette, N7NVP, who worked

FISTS. Lot of fun had a good time. There were lots of high-speed guys,
around
30wpm. Scott made 4 FISTS on 40m. <Discussion followed>
There
is a Swap Meet in Salem this weekend.
