None present, but we welcome a new member: KH6FE, Ted Sommer moved here from Bremerton.

Reading of Previous Minutes:
To be done at January 18 meeting.

Officers’ Reports:

Treasurer:
KB7ADO: Transaction Report 11/1/2005 through 11/30/2005 was distributed. No December Bank Statement yet. Should have it at next meeting.

Correspondence:
KB7ADO: The PUD bill was $254.04, no water—all
electric. I have Clark County Newsletter and misc. stock investment junk mail. Stocks are at 43.98. Investments are up then down. WM7U: Do we need an Audit Committee?

Old Business:
KB7ADO: Started the generator and bought a battery.
It’s operational. <Discussion followed on batteries for the generator. See more under “New Business”> WM7U: Asked for status of the HF antenna? <Discussion followed about the new 40m & 80m antennas, pulleys, setups, the 15m beam, hardware, and weather>

New Business:
KB7ADO: Inquired about getting new batteries for the generator. KJ7OX, NU7D, and WM7U discussed deep-cycle batteries from WalMart for $60, a Controller Switch, obtaining batteries for each repeater for $69.96 & $119.95, or just one big one.

NU7D: Stated he’s working with Trudy to get a generator.

WM7U: Other item is about repairing the Transceiver.

KJ7OX: The Kenwood 520 is repaired and operational. Good signal was reported. Spent $101.85 on it. “Thank you” to Ray, Steve, and everyone involved.

NU7D: Kalama Fire Station’s radio installation will be previewed on Friday or Saturday, 1/6 or 1/7, to install the Tri-band. One antenna will go up. Need Volunteers to help on either day. I’ll send emails.

AD7HN: Would like to develop/discuss goals and plans for the Club for 2006, such as Station Reorganization by summer as an Open House for all area hams—could include Contesting and Operating Days to increase Membership. <Discussion followed about painting the Clubhouse and resealing the floor, purging file cabinets and old magazines.

KJ7OX: Everyone bring a list of suggestions for goals to next meeting. AD7HN concurred.

KD7DCM: Suggested moving the repeater cabinets to make more floor space available. Would also like to coordinate for a 220 repeater and have it operational this year.

KB7ADO: Further research is needed on that. Need to buy Notch Filter Set for the Club. When others and
new members are at the Clubhouse, keep in mind the licensing and operating restrictions for the radios.

AD7HN: Another suggestion is to operate and WIN the
“Salmon Run”. <Discussion followed> Also asked if anyone is interested in being a VE? NB7Y has the class materials for us. <Discussion followed>

KJ7OX: Earl, N3EG, brought up a box of 2006 Calendars for us. Talk to him about the 220 repeater and to Rob, WA7ROB, about the 26.

Good of the Order:
KJ7OX: The VHF radio donation was fixed up by WM7U as
a portable unit. Nice job, Wally. (It’s the Kenwood 271 that KJ7OX donated to the Club.)

WM7U: Randy, NU7D, resigned as District Emergency Coordinator for Region 4, but is staying on as the Cowlitz Co. Emergency Coordinator. “Thanks” to Randy for all his work! NU7D: The position of DEC is open, if anyone’s interested.

N7EJO: “Thanks” to all the folks for arranging the
December Banquet at the Rose Tree.

KD7GZR: Cowlitz/Wahkiakum Counties ARES/RACES Net statistics for year of 2005 show Total Announcements at 135 with Traffic at 18 and Practice Traffic at 4. Total check-ins were 576, with Oct. & Nov. having the most. The top 4 hams checking in were: KB7PMO, KD7DCM, KA7IDT, and N7YBZ, not counting me, KD7GZR-Judi.

KB7AYY: “Thanks” to Judi for all your efforts as Net Control.

Adjournment:
Meeting adjourned at 8:20pm (pst)

Respectfully submitted by: KD7GZR, Judi Robins—Secretary
