RS-10NC7I Satellite StationFO-20

This page will contains a description of my satellite stations.

The portable satellite station consists of
  • Yaesu FT-51RHP - 5 watt full duplex 70cm/2m HT
  • Arrow AO-27 Antenna
  • Stereo Headphones and splitter
  • Speaker Mic
  • Micro cassette recorder (simplifies logging)

The satellite station at home consists of

  • Yaesu FT-840 for 10m downlinks
  • Kenwood TS-711A for 2m uplinks and 10m downlinks
  • 10m dipole antenna on the ceiling of my garage
  • 2m groundplane on the roof

To operate AO-27 I need to be outside. Since the weather can be cool in the winter, my winter activity on AO-27 is minimal. I have used the station to work SO-35, and I am sure that it will work for UO-14. Check on the SO-35 availability over North America. To get pass predictions e-mailed to you try JPass Generator. Drop me an e-mail if you need AZ or grid DM42 on RS-13, AO-27, SO-35 or UO-14. If you need an adjacent grid on AO-27, SO-35 or UO-14, let me know and I'll let you know when/if I can make it there.

In the future, I plan on adding capability for FO-20 and FO-29 to my shack. I have a Hamtronics receive converter for 70cm to allow my 10m receiver to work on the downlink. All I need now is to get around to building the 70cm antenna. I plan to use a design I got from Jerry K5OE for his eggbeater II.
