The Henryk Arctowski Antarctic Station of the Polish Academy of Sciences, founded Feb. 26th 1977 in Admiralty Bay on King George Island of the South Shetland archipelago, was doing biological, meteorological and geophysical research all year round, with a staff of 19 scientists and technicians, including the intrepid ham operator Andy Zielinski, SP2BHZ.
