Special Event stations help to commenorate historical occasions or other special events. PWARC held its first Special Event on June 3 and 4, 2011 commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Pueblo Flood. Flood waters rose to 15 feet in some areas, causing an estimated $20 million in damage (1921 dollars) and killing nearly 1,500 people.

On Friday, June 3, the home stations of WA0KAQ, KA0USA, K1DDN and K0JSC were on the air using the club's call sign of NA0PW.

On Saturday, a station was set up at Pueblo West Library. Helping with the station were Neal, (KD0MBL), Ed (NI5R), Andy (ND0P), Paul (KB0JIT) and David (KY6YYY).

Many special event stations provide a special QSL card or collectible certificate, and our club chose to use an 8-1/2" x 11" certificate for those stations wishing to have the unique confirmation. The logs were also uploaded to eQSL.cc.

A total of 234 contacts were made on SSB and PSK31 despite very poor band conditions.
