Congrats to Dewayne. Also of note in this issue of SciAm is the theme regarding Wireless Technologies. Of particular interest to members of this group is the article describing Terrestrial Wireless Networks by Alex Hill of CMU (pg86). While the article is broad reaching, Mr. Hill goes on to say that CMU has a wireless network using over 100 Lucent Wavelan boards. Its not clear to me from the article if he was able to bypass the need for the ATT "access points", but if so, he has found a way to put together a inexpensive roaming wireless network. A good read this month. -Jeff From johnson@mmsi.com Thu Mar 19 09:30:14 1998 Received: from mmsi.com (fw1.mmsi.com [209.75.132.66]) by tapr.org (8.7.5/8.7.3/1.9) with ESMTP id JAA03520 for ; Thu, 19 Mar 1998 09:30:12 -0600 (CST) Received: from modular-2 by mmsi.com (8.8.5/SMI-4.1) id IAA02700; Thu, 19 Mar 1998 08:29:12 -0700 (MST) Received: from tomswift.mmsi.com by modular-2 (4.1/SMI-4.1) id AA07551; Thu, 19 Mar 98 08:29:07 MST Message-Id: <351139C2.B691ED12@mmsi.com> Date: Thu, 19 Mar 1998 08:29:06 -0700 From: "Lyle V.
