At least it is hoped that it is a paper, but it looks like it is starting to become a PhD thesis... And I am saying that power control in an 802.11 network is not only good, but essential. Anyway I want to include some information about routing through an ad-hoc network where the routing is done to minimise the power spectral density.... I know that is not the normal way to do things, but that is my idea. Then I got to thinking that the way to be able to do that is to determine the physical topology of the network. With more thought I have come to realise that the way to do this would be through some type of least-squares iteration, using data from the stations, working out how much power they need to transmit for a given receieved S/N raitio. The way I see it a reasonable model can be ontained of the network from this type of data. My question... Has anyone done anything like this, or can anyone point me towards some reading matter on the subject. Many thanks Darryl P.S.
