VUCC Award Field Input Assistant

What is VUCCAward?

VUCCAward is a program to help the first time VUCC applicant to create their field submission sheets.  You can currently download an HTML form (ARRL msd-259) and either hand write in your grid information or you can use an editor to manually enter your information in.  In either case there is no easy way to get your data into a clean format for your Awards Manager to review.

What is VUCCAward NOT?

VUCCAward was not written to be an awards tracker.  To be honest, there are tons of awards trackers out there that do some pretty amazing things such as error alerting, grid square mapping, web page statistic generations and many other cool features.  VUCCAward truly is a field sheet input assistant to help out with that initial award application.

What is VUCCAward’s future?

Good question.  I wish I had an answer to that.  The current version of the program is very BETA.  Additionally the program is lacking some functionality that needs to be programmed yet.

Where can I get it?

Simply click on the following link:  vucc.exe (80k) (Ver 1.04)

My program say’s I’m missing files.

You may need to download the Microsoft Visual Basic Runtime package.  You can get that here: vb60.zip (1.69 Meg) Please be aware that this is a Microsoft product and there is NO SUPPORT for it here.

I have a suggestion, where do I send it?

You can email me at [email protected]

How do I use the program?

Initial VUCC submissions are simply individual sheets broken down by Frequency and Grid Field.  The software works the same way.  You select your frequency from the list of available VUCC Award recognized frequencies and you enter in the two letter grid field identifier.  You can then start entering callsigns into the appropriate grid squares below.  If the grid square text boxes are disabled this means you have entered a non-two character grid field identifier.  Also, please note that the callsigns do not save to the database until you leave that callsigns field.

If you change the grid field identifier or the frequency selection you will see the grid square data change.  Don’t worry, the data is saved.  If you go back to the frequency and grid field identifier you will see your pre-entered data again.  This way you can be working on multiple grid fields and awards for different frequencies at the same time.

As stated above, the point of this program is primarily to help you fill out your ARRL msd-259 form.  For the frequency and grid field identifier that you have selected you can click on “File” on the menu bar and click on “Print” to generate the msd-259 form on your printer.  It should contain all of your entered data.
