About the Operator:

ME

I am currently 33 year old and I have been married to a very patient woman for 7 wonderful years.  I have one daughter who is 4, who likes to tap the code key and make the keyer chirp.  

First licensed as a Novice in 1991 as KB9HDS, I eventually worked (and I mean worked) my way up to Extra.  I have had an interest in radio since high school when a group of friends and I used to chase the rare DX on the AM broadcast bands looking for exotic stations like KYW in Philadelphia, and WBAP in Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Originally from the Great Place on a Great Lake - Milwaukee, WI.  I moved to Peoria in search of Employment, and I have been with Caterpillar Inc. for over 10 years as a Systems Analyst. 

Operating

I operate a little bit of everything, including HF - SSB,CW, SSTV, and the new PSK-31 mode; 6M; and 2M FM.  I have also tried my hand a some satellite work on HF. My log currently shows 5850 contacts (including contests), 50 states, and 124 countries (some not yet confirmed, but I am waiting patiently).   Recently I have been running PSK-31. Contesting is also one of my favorite pastimes.  I am trying to get the antenna farm set up for this fall's action including ARRL Sweepstakes and CQ WW DX.
