12. Silas HICKAM Sr. (William (Billy)3, Richard2, William1), M. Born in 1803 in Knox County, Kentucky. Silas died in Jackson County, Illinois, on August 14, 1844; he was 41.

In the 1810 Knox County, Kentucky census, Silas was age 7 born in 1803 in Union County, Illinois
In the 1818 census Silas was 15 years old and born in 1803.
Silas was 2nd lieutenant in the Black Hawk War in H. Jenkins Company from June 16, 1832 to August 10, 1832 in Jackson County, Illinois. Black Hawk was the leader of the Fox and Sacs Indians.
Silas and Mary went to Missouri in 1860 and returned to Illinois after the Civil War.
Silas had race horses and it is believed he died by being kicked in the head by one of his horses.
Most of the children's names and dates are from Anna Belle Tittsworth.

In 1820 when Silas was 17, he married Mary Catherine ALDRIDGE, F, in Jackson County, Illinois. Born in 1807 in Kentucky. Mary Catherine died in Illinois in 1850; she was 43. Buried in Jerusalem Christian Church Cem. Pomona, IL.
