Membership in the Western Reserve Yacht Club is open to persons who have reached the age of eighteen years and own a boat having a minimum length of sixteen feet and equipped with a forty horsepower motor minimum.
Nothing is more frustrating to the average boater than to try and organize a cruise with your dock partners or boating friends. It seems that it is impossible to get more than two people to coordinate their busy schedules to put something together. Maybe you don't even know your dock partners? Maybe you are looking for a place where you know all of the dock owners and they know you? Maybe you are looking for a place where they have established cruises and parties that incorporate all aspects of boating? Maybe you are looking for a place where your kids have ample space to play safely, and you can invite your friends down to your boat for a barbecue?
At Western Reserve Yacht Club we are all of these things and much more!
Western Reserve Yacht Club is a 30 year old family club. The functions, cruises, facilities, and grounds are geared toward accommodating the boating family.
Our member families enjoy the fun and excitement of nine annual club parties, we have steak roasts, clambakes, and a formal Christmas Party. We have a Halloween and Christmas Party for our young boaters.
The Club organizes a number of cruises each year that take us to places like Port Stanley, Ontario, Put-in-Bay, Ohio, and Erie, PA. We open the year with a shakedown cruise to a nearby club for lunch. This helps us get the bugs out of the boats before the season really gets into full swing.
We also boast a fine ladies organization known as the Ladies Auxiliary. It is their efforts throughout the year that insure us that our club functions will come off without a hitch.
As a member, you are entitled to use the kitchen facilities, the clubhouse, the showers, fish cleaning station and grounds. But there is more........
Your membership in the Western Reserve Yacht Club will allow you to enjoy the facilities of other fine area yacht clubs. By using your WRYC membership card, you can charge meals, gas and overnight dockage at clubs all over Lake Erie. Many clubs even offer complimentary dockage for up to three nights to boaters visiting from other clubs!
Western Reserve Yacht Club will allow you to get the most enjoyment out of your boating hobby and will turn your short boating season into a year round pastime.
