This fact sheet was put together to try to answer some of the more popular questions and concerns regarding the how-to's of using FTP software to access this server.

First you must have FTP software, pretty basic but there are alot of people that do not know that Netscape and Internet Explorer are "NOT" FTP software for the purpose of munipulating your home page directory. You can download shareware and freeware copies of FTP software from one of the links to the left.

Once you have your software installed or if you already have software you will need to setup for accessing this server. The address (host name) to this server is : ftp.qsl.net, NOT www.qsl.net. Very important, if you put the www in front you will get a message that states "Host Not Found".

Your FTP software will also ask for your USER ID, that is the ID given to you by the Webmaster in the E-Mail that was sent to you. The E-Mail also contained your PASSWORD, enter that in the appropriate space on your setup screen also.

That is all there is to it. Once it connects you will be in your base directory. You will need to go into the directory "public_html" (double-click it) and that is where you upload your files for your homepage.

By default when users from the WEB connect to your address (www.qsl.net/?????) they will automatically by given the "index.html" file in the "public_html" directory, so whatever you write you need to make sure it is called "index.html" then overwrite the existing one that was issued for you when you signed up.

Now you have your own homepage. Just give your address to whoever you wish and they to can enjoy the fruits of your labor.

I hope this has helped ! Enjoy..
