1st Place International QRP 10-10 Summer QSO Party

**Note: My score and log for the 1983 10-10 Summer QSO Party was rejected because it was NOT received by August 16, 1983.  Rules are rules even though they are sometimes silly rules beyond the control of the sender. The forwarding address was destroyed by the Post Office and returned. It was repackaged and resent before August 16, but reported as not received by August 16 by the RTX Chapter scoring committee  The score was 616 and the next highest QRP score was 270 which was accepted as the winning score. I worked 2 more 10-10 QSO party's before losing interest in Amateur Radio for several years. The 10-10 organization decided to drop the QRP category and I decided to stop working their QSO Party as it became clear their intent was to put more operators on 10 meters versus encouraging better operators using minimal power levels to communicate. Incidentally, 10-10 International did change the rules for log submissions from "received by" to "postmarked by" a specified date in their new rules for the very next QSO Party.
