Inspecting the damage, July 15, 2002

Sunday evening,  July 14, 2002, a storm blew sustained 60 mph winds, hail and 8/10 inches of rain (that's alot in the Sonoran Desert.) Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, 2 miles south closed due to wind damage. Some areas lost power for three days. By comparison, losing my 36 foot push-up mast was minor damage. The 4-element 6m beam was twisted into a pretzel, a complete loss. The M2 2m12 can be straightened and the 432 beam showed no damage. The orange tree wasn't hurt either. Well, I was planning to do some maintainence anyway. That's Sammy looking a little sad.

I have a 55' crank-up tower waiting installation, hopefully before E season (and the accompying <100 F temperatures!)
