Double sided sticky tape is the main mounting component for the 3-band FM rig.   OK, the secret is out as to which frequencies I monitor the most.  The 6 meter module is tuned to a friend's local 6 meter repeater.  Two meters is on a simplex channel (ah yes, a carry over from my weak signal work), and the 440 channel is set on the local Cactus repeater.

You can see the 1" square length of Plexiglas under the rear of the control panel.   The protective paper was a bit baked on (you know what they say about that dry heat in AZ) so I decided to take it off with some 100 grit sandpaper.  I did all 6 sides that way, resulting in kind of a white textured appearance.  It looked OK to me so in it went.  The microphone extension cable connector is tucked in behind the front panel also.  I almost did not install it, since the main radio is mounted in the mobile bracket which is bolted to the floor, under the driver's seat.  When the mic was attached to the radio itself, the driver had no problem with it, but stretching it over to the passenger's area was a bit troublesome, especially if you need to shift gears, etc.  So, I went ahead and put the mic connection up on the dash, making the mic easily accessible from just about any place in the Jeep.  The cables route off to the driver side and drop down behind the dash and follow the same path as does the IC-706 cable.  The 742 cable pops out from beneath the carpet right at the front of the driver's seat mount and attaches to the main radio.

I tried to find a good mounting location near the IC-706 but was not able to come up with anything useable.
