| The IC-706 is mounted just to the right of center on the dash. It allows for easy use by either driver or passenger. I used the little Icom mounting plate that attaches to the back of the front panel. It is bolted to a home made mounting bracket that attaches to the dash itself. I recycled a couple of holes that my TS-60 mounting bracket had occupied. The remote interface cable is tucked up under the dash and routes towards the rear of the jeep under the interior panels. You can see the old Timewave DSP in the lower portion of the photo. | ![]() |
| A close-up of the IC-706. The microphone stays in place with the help of a little bit of Velcro self sticking tape. This keeps the microphone always within easy reach and prevents fumbling for it while driving. Anyone want to do a little 6 meter DXing? | ![]() |
