N7FGM REPEATER SYSTEM

Yes, it has finally been coordinated, and I am making final adjustments to the system.  It is still set for launch on or before December 1st, 2002.  What are the specifics you ask.  Well, let's see.  How much bull can I give you?

The repeater is a Motorola Motrac Compa-Station 90watt commercial repeater.  With tube final.  The repeater is back from the Starski and Hutch days.  They used the mobile version in their car.  I have modified it for (Ugghh, Ugghh, Ugghh) "More POWER".  I have decided to run the Binford 2100xl Nitrous injected Widget with matching Flux Capacitor.

Yeah, I wish.  Nah, it's a basic commercial repeater.  I am using The NHRC Controller to manage the monstrosity.  I have a APC 4100xl UPS sitting in the bottom of "Rack 1".  This has enough power to run both the cabinets for about two hours if needed.  Both cabinets have a cooling blower sitting in for the "Chill Factor".  And the two are connected via three 6" conduit pipes.

What is in the second cabinet you ask?  Well.  Just a small data center.  With all of the new found Voice Over IP products coming out, I thought it only necessary to plan ahead.  In the top of the cabinet is a blower.  Next is all the interconnect gear.  I am using 3Com Net Builder Routers, Switches, and enough FireWall to protect even the most sensitive data.  All data circuits are redundant, coming up on fiber, and RF (details are protected information)  Two Cobalt RAQ2 Web/Mail/FTP servers hang out just serving up my email, along with a development server that houses some of the worlds most useless information.  Under the "RAQs" (pun intended) sit not one but two HP Linux servers.  Current system designs have them independent of each other, but who knows...  They might end up clustered.

Under all this "Micro-power" lies my favorite part of the whole thing...  The junk pile.  Nothing important...  Users manuals, cd's, misc cables, etc.

Pictures soon!
