TPDX - Trans Pacific DX on Medium Wave
This website is about hearing AM broadcast band stations from across the Pacific.  TP DXing (as it's called) is a specialized part of the radio listening hobby. This site should be of interest to medium wave Dxers in North America, as well as hobbyists in Australia, New Zealand, the Far East, and Europe who like to explore the AM band for exotic receptions.

 The Pacific Asian Log
The Pacific Asian Log (PAL) is a list of all known medium wave broadcast stations in the Asia-Pacific region from Afghanistan to Alaska. It is over 100 pages long and lists over 3200 stations in 56 countries, including frequency, location, call letters, slogan, network, power, schedule, languages, and other information. It also includes longwave stations in the region, plus weather stations and beacons operating near the MW band. I compiled the first edition of the log in early-mid 2001 and will be updating it on a regular basis.

The log is based on DX reports plus information gleaned from the worldwide web. You can obtain a copy simply by clicking on one of the links to the right.

Grayland
Grayland is a small town on the coast of Washington state, about 200 km southwest of Seattle. It has a population of around 500, and is one of the leading cranberry-producing areas in the United States.  It is also a popular place for DXers in the Northwestern U.S. and British Columbia.  Each year, several groups of DXers head there to put out Beverage antennas and hear exotic stations on medium wave and the Tropical shortwave bands.

The latest DXpedition took place from September 19-23, 2001.   Seven of us were present, including myself, Charles Hutton, Guy Atkins, and Phil Bytheway from the Seattle area, Walter Saminaw from Victoria, Canada, John Bryant from Orcas Island, WA and Stillwater, OK, and Don Nelson from Portland, OR.  The results were impressive, despite erratic conditions, producing logs from all over eastern Asia and the south Pacific on medium wave and shortwave.

Check out the link to the right for more a complete (and very lengthy) log of what we heard.
