Driving through the southern
Pennsylvania countryside,
I've become aware
That I am viewing the world
Through new glasses.
The hills are ablaze
With the crisp crimson of autumn,
The sky alive with vibrant blue
And cotton candy cumulus.
Mozart surrounds and engulfs me;
The highway sounds recede into
A murmur of gentle distraction.
I'm coming home.
Home. A new dimension
To an ancient dream,
The place where my love awaits.
My doubts, what few remain,
Diminish mile by mile.
The highway dips,
The car sways,
I am on autopilot.
Traffic bustles about me,
Goes its own impatient way,
Oblivious to my resurrection.
For I am alive
For the first time in years,
Experiencing a world
That never was before,
And I marvel in viewing it
Through her eyes.
