San Diego County Amateur Radio Council - SANDARC

Incorporated on August 11, 1958, the San Diego County Amateur Radio Council, SANDARC, exists to serve the needs of the San Diego ham radio community. Our call is W6SLF. SANDARC is made up of member clubs dedicated to the advancement of amateur radio throughout San Diego County. The needs of our hobby are served by many activities which are supported by SANDARC, but not limited to the following:

Volunteer Examiner Program. Known as SANDARC-VEC, which hosts an examination every weekend of the year, with certain exceptions. The fee is only $5 and at most sites walk-ins are welcome.

Various local events which include an "Amateur Radio Booth" at the Del Mar Fair, and the "ARRL Ham Radio Roundup," an event that is held at Hillside Park in Rancho Penisquitos with the public in mind.

In conjunction with the ARRL, we sponsor a convention every fourth year. We sponsored the 2006 convention. In September 2007, the "Hamcom 2007" convention will be held in Torrance, California. The following link will take you to their convention site: http://www.hamcon.org/

If the name of the club is highlighted, click on it to point your browser to their web site. We have a very active ham radio community here in sunny San Diego.

The San Diego County Amateur Radio Council, Inc. holds meetings ten times a year. Meetings begin at 7:00 PM on a Thursday evening and are held at the Kearny Mesa Recreation Center, 3170 Armstrong Street, San Diego, CA. If you would like an advance copy of the agenda please e-mail the chairman approximately three days prior to the meeting date. The Council does not meet in November or December. All amateur radio operators are invited to attend.

A meeting schedule for 2007 has being established. Our meeting will be held on the last Thursday of the month. The 2007 Executive Board Meeting will be held on January 18, 2007. Monthly meeting schedule for 2007 is as follows:
