Most messages can be directly viewed without having to extract the file and then run some other application to display the file.
Simply select the message by clicking on it in, and it will be displayed in the message area.
Note that if the message has been compressed using PKZIP (or GZIP) and is a single text file, the message will be automatically decompressed and displayed.
JPEG and GIF images can also be displayed without the use of any additional software. They will be displayed in an additional popup Window.
EIS (Earth Imaging System) files can also be displayed without the use of additional software. They will also be displayed in an additional popup window.
