Plano Balloon Festival

Plano Balloon Fest 21 - 23 September 2012
Greetings fellow radio operators. Once again we welcome your support of the 2012 Plano Balloon Festival. Please mark
your calendars and save the dates: 21 - 23 September. The three day festival is the single largest event
supported in Collin County. Many operators will be needed to fill Field and Recovery operations.
Training materials and a sign up link is provided at: https://sites.google.com/site/pbfcomsupp/ You will be able to review your submission on the Registration Confirmation page within 24hrs. We ask that you review the important information available to you on this site.

APRS is used extensively for recovery operations.

JDRF Compete for a Cure

Annual JDRF walk to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research. 12
Radio Operators needed with portable radios for shadow and checkpoint
positions. Communicators will report at 0600. The walk should conclude
before noon. This is a great training opportunity for new hams. Please
confirm your attendance to K5LD+verizon.net

Dallas White Rock Marathon

New Date and Start Finish this year. The new start/finish this year will be in the Omni Hotel area of downtown Dallas. Also note the date is the second Sunday this year.
If you want to reserve your position from 2011, sign up on our Marathon Yahoo Group page and email Bob Jones, W5BJ at w5bj+arrl.net. You can also use the web sign up form. As this event grows we will most definately need more communicators. At minimum you need to be a Communications Resource Function S. Best to be a CRF-B. (See Communicator Information Tab at left)
All current and prospective Marathon Communicators can stay up to date, post activity reports, download files and ask questions regarding any aspect of Marathon Communications via our Yahoo Group.
