Just a few words about the mods in these directories: 1) These mods are untested. We claim no responsibility if they are incorrect. 2) These mods often require modification to the radio itself. If you are not experienced in working with PC boards, soldering, or surface mount components, find someone who is and have them do the mod. It is too easy to damage your radio if you aren't careful. 3) Ham radios are not type-accepted to transmit outside of the ham bands. Even if you have a license for some other band, IT IS ILLEGAL TO USE A MODIFIED HAM RADIO TO TRANSMIT THERE. Be careful about out-of-band operations in an emergency - if the FCC doesn't agree it is an emergency, it may cost you your licence or a *lot* of money. 4) When cutting component leads or wire jumpers, make sure the cut ends are insulated and can not touch anything else inside the radio. 5) Many mods end with 'now reset the radio'. Before starting any mod, make a log of all frequencies, offsets, PL tones, etc. Resetting the radio (or accidentally shorting the wrong two pins while doing the mod) will usually erase all of the memories. 6) Don't listen to stuff you shouldn't (cellular, cordless in CA, SCA, etc) 7) There are NO extended RX or TX mods for the HTX-202...
