Superbikes and Superbikeconcepts.com - Consumer Alert October 2002

This is a CONSUMER ALERT for those who might be looking for information about
a company called SUPERBIKES and SUPERBIKECONCEPTS. They are one in the same.
Superbikeconcepts operates a web site at: http://www.superbikeconcepts.com

They sell bike parts and riding gear. They sell various brand helmets like
ARAI and SHOEI. When I first discovered their web site and considered placing
an order, I noticed a few things that seemed suspicious. They didn't answer
their phone and all I got was a recording referring callers to their email
address. Also, they had no direct billing set up but instead a link to
Paypal. The customer had the responsibility of filling in order sizes, model
numbers etc. Furthermore, I could find no information of their address,
location of business etc. I attempted to find consumer feedback information
- good or bad via internet search engines but found nothing.

With reservations, I placed an order and paid up front via Paypal with a credit
card. After two weeks went by and I still hadn't received my order, I contacted
Superbike Concepts via email. Later I received an email from Charles informing
me that my bike parts were on order and had still not been received. I needed
the parts in a timely fashion and was also beginning to have a bad feeling about
Superbikes / SuperBike Concepts.

I requested that my order me cancelled and my money refunded. I received an
email from Charles agreeing to do that.

One week goes by - still no refund. I email Charles at Superbike Concepts and
he tells me the "billing department" failed to issue the refund.

Another week goes by - still no instant refund via PayPal.

I email Charles yet again and ask about the refund. He tells me he "will take
care of it himself". Exactly 30 days had elapsed since I made the original
payment via PayPal.

The next day - still no refund. I contacted PayPal to issue a complaint and I'm
informed that PayPal won't help after 30 days! It had been 31 days.

In other words - Charles and Superbikes / Superbike Concept strung me along -
promising me that my refund was going out long enough for 30 days to elapse where
I would be unable to file a complaint and seek restitution through PayPal.

Now my emails requsting my money be returned go unanswered and it appears I have
been defrauded.

Too late to help me - I contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for the State
of Florida - SouthEast Florida to be precise. Using my phone records, I was able
to determine the location of SuperBikeconcepts.com as the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
area.

Better Business Bureau web site and contact info for SE Florida:

SuperBikeconcepts.com / Superbike Concepts was not listed under the BBB but using
the phone number in the Florida BBB database I located their listing:

Superbikes

Plantation, FL 33324
(954) 472-0003

Additional information:
Superbikeconcepts.com
Charles Rosaly
Email addresses used are:
sales@superbikeconcepts.com
Charles@superbikeconcepts.com

This is also the same phone number listed on my phone records as well as the same
number listed on Superbikeconcepts.com which only leads to a recording.

Here is the Florida Better Business Bureau rating for Superbikes /
Superbikeconcepts.com :

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due
to unanswered complaint(s).

I'm now filing consumer complaints with the Better Business Bureau of Florida and
the State of Florida Attorney General at the Division of Consumer Services :
http://www.doacs.state.fl.us/~cs/ccform.html

I've also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision:
http://www.ftc.gov/

Furthermore I filed a complaint with the FBI Internet Fraud center: http://www.1.ifccfbi.gov/cf1.asp

Hopefully enough customers that have been defrauded by SuperBikeconcepts.com /
Superbikes will file complaints with the Florida Attorney General to bring action.

I decided to create and post this web page in order to help other unknowing
bike parts customers such as myself to discover the problems that myself and
others have experienced with Superbikeconcepts.com / Superbike. If I had
been able to locate a consumer alert page warning my - I would never had done
business with them and been defrauded of my money.

I think it's also important to realize that PayPal will do nothing after 30 days.
Based on their attitude I experienced when I called PayPal on the phone, I'm
not even sure they can promise restituion or provide assistance before 30 days.
