Four views of the VFO section

The completed vfo, with lots of space left over for the rest of the rig. The tuning potentiometer is shown, as is the obligatory series light bulb for current limiting during the initial smoke tests.

Oscilloscope display of the signal on the base of the VFO transistor. A x10 probe was used so the scale is really 1 V per cm, not 0.1 as displayed.

Several views of the receiver strip. I used the IF can at the front end, but incorporated Jim's (K8IQY) new crystal filter design.

At the operating position for first QSO's with Tom (AC5JH) and Jim (K8IQY). Also visible is the K-2 and seldom used TS-430S.
