4.0.0 SOFTWARE METHODOLOGY
The CVPBS system is software controlled by a custom program written in
LabView 5.01 and compiled into an executable file for use on the IBM
PC or equivalent platform.
The software runs under two modes of operation. The two modes use
Identical motion calculations, but the data source is different for each.
The first mode is the Calculated Profile Mode. In this mode, a breath
profile is selected; The BPM determines the repetition rate and the
AMPLITUDE control adjusts the base flow rate of the profile from
10 to 450 LPM. a calculation is performed that generates a flow profile
containing from 50 to 1875 data points per breath. the program then
calculates a velocity and a position for each data point in the breath
profile. If the COMMIT button is pressed this new data array is
downloaded to the controller card.
