3.0.1 FUNCTIONAL CONTROL
The second mode is the manual mode which is selected when none of the
twelve bank profiles are depressed. Although not specifically a mode the
user may elect to use custom static profiles i.e.. M1 which will lock out
the users ability to vary the LPM and BPM.
The connotation of breathing rate in terms of LPM as used in this manual
relates to the instantaneous volume flow rate and has nothing to do with
the minute volume, tidal or breath volume, or lung volumes. These flow
rates specify the velocity of airflow supplied by the machine.
The sample rate for all profiles is 16 milliseconds (ms).
